MITO/RD10[AU] Detector - User Guide

Updated: 5 days ago

Device Overview

  • Firmware & Calibration: All MTIO/RD10[AU] detectors come with custom-mapped MRx1.1.88(xx) or 1.2.04(xx) firmware for 2024/25, ensuring accurate and consistent readings.

  • LED Indicators: Designed for easy interpretation, providing reliable results for both home and workplace screening.

  • Quality Assurance: Each device undergoes an 11-point validation check before dispatch.

  • Powering On: When switching on the MTIO/RD10[AU] detector, the LED lights sweep right during startup and then perform a second sweep indicating the battery level.

  • Low Battery Indicator: At 10% capacity, two green lights display in RF Mode. To avoid misinterpretation, check for orange or red lights during the second sweep. One red light = 10% battery.

  • Charging Time:

    • Half charge: 5–10 minutes.

    • Full charge: Up to 1 hour from flat.

    • The red charge light turns off once fully charged.

  • Battery Maintenance:

    • Top up before use as the battery loses charge over time.

    • While overcharging is not possible, avoid leaving it connected for extended periods to prevent battery swelling.

What to Measure

USB Active Cable

  • Compatibility Warning: Standard USB cables only charge the device. They are incompatible with Enviroens PC/Mac/Android monitoring or GPS software.

  • Handling Caution: Use the ‘Active Connect USB’ cable carefully. Forcing, knocking, or pulling can cause damage.

Important Measuring Tips

  • Near Field vs. Far Field:

    • Near Field (Too Close): Avoid measuring within 30 cm of the source for more accurate results.

    • Far Field (Recommended): Maintain a distance of 30 cm to 3 m from the source.

  • Strong Electromagnetic Fields:

    • Stop moving toward high-intensity sources (e.g., pool pumps, smart meters) if LEDs reach their limit to prevent sensor overload.
